BMW TechWorks Romania triples its team in just nine months and continues operational expansion

BMW TechWorks Romania marks a significant milestone in its development, reaching a total of over 350 employees—up from 110 at the time of launching operations just nine months ago. The recent rapid growth has led to the expansion of the workspace, with additional floors being acquired in a new office building within the same complex on Ploiești Street.

This growth reflects both the steady evolution of ongoing projects and our teams' ability to deliver solid results at an accelerated pace. We have succeeded in building an organization with a strong culture based on collaboration, accountability, innovation, and executional excellence said Marian Haus, Chief Operating Officer of BMW TechWorks Romania.

The Cluj-Napoca teams are involved in BMW-specific projects focused on software development and digitalization, actively contributing to the enhancement of the group’s technological expertise both locally and internationally. Investments in competencies such as software development on AWS and Azure cloud platforms, Salesforce, SAP, 3DExperience, and Artificial Intelligence have been key in the company’s rapid growth. Collaboration with Cluj’s technical and IT universities also plays an important role.

In the coming period, BMW TechWorks Romania will maintain its growth trajectory, aiming to reach over 500 IT specialists by the end of the year. At the same time, the company will continue strengthening its teams, expanding its project and technology portfolio, and developing a stable and competitive tech ecosystem.
